PrepSarthiAI("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use PrepSarthiAI:

  • Google Account Info — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. Used for account identification and personalization.
  • Name — Provided by you during onboarding. Used to personalize your experience.
  • Language Preference — Hindi or English. Used to display the app in your preferred language.
  • Exam Level — PRT, TGT, or PGT. Used to show relevant content.
  • Practice Data — Your answers, scores, accuracy, and session history. Used to track your progress and identify weak areas.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your account via Google Sign-In
  • To display the app in your preferred language
  • To show your practice history, scores, and progress
  • To identify weak areas and recommend topics for practice
  • To improve our question bank based on aggregated, anonymized usage data

We do NOT use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone outside of the services required to operate the app.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored on encrypted servers hosted by industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers.
  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
  • We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that your data is only accessible to you — no other user can see your practice history or scores.
  • Your phone number is stored in our authentication system, NOT in our application database.

4. Your Rights (DPDP Act)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access — View all personal data we hold about you (available in your Profile page).
  • Correction — Update your name, language, or exam level anytime.
  • Deletion — Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
  • Withdraw Consent — You may stop using the app and request data deletion at any time.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies only for maintaining your login session. We use Google OAuth for authentication, which requires interaction with Google's servers during sign-in. We do NOT use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or any third-party tracking tools beyond authentication.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted, industry-standard third-party services for database hosting, authentication, and website delivery. All our service providers are SOC 2 compliant and follow industry-best security practices. We do not share your personal data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention

  • Your account data (name, phone, preferences) is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Practice history and scores are retained as long as your account is active.
  • Upon account deletion, all your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., overall question difficulty statistics) may be retained after account deletion as it cannot be linked back to you.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by the DPDP Act. Notification will be sent via the app and/or SMS to your registered phone number.

9. Children's Privacy

PrepSarthiAI is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
